recessive pied and eye rings?

ive heard that recessive pied mutation budgies dont get eye rings like the dark eyed clear mutatiions? is this true? because my budgie seems to be a recessive pied and hes 7 months old and he has yet to develop a noticeable white eye ring

This is true. Recessive pieds will not get the typical iris ring, and birds that are split to recessive pied will also not get the iris ring.
