Short and simple, it's to multi-quote. If you highlight a phrase within a post, you can also create multi-quotes that way! (or a regular quote)

If you wanted to multi-quote a bunch of members before you use to have to click on one person's message then scroll up or down and click quote on another persons message and scroll up some more and click quote on that persons message to get all the people's quotes in the post you wanted to make.

They took all the scrolling up and down out of the way so all you need to do is click on Quote + and then Quote + on another message and Quote + on another message and its all done without the fuss.

you can also just highlight parts of each persons message that you want to quote and a little box comes up and you can click quote or +quote
