So sweet of a story.
I learned that many other countries outside of United States, don't wash off eggs , so then are able to store a room Temp for awhile.

In the UK most don't refrigerate eggs at all, only strange people do. My mum has a wire chicken on the counter she stores eggs in. Eggs are not washed at all in the UK.
In Spain our eggs are partially washed so I buy eggs off the shelf and I put mine in the fridge because it is so warm in my house.

I do keep my eggs in the fridge. Maybe that's from having lived in Canada and the US for many years. It was the thing to do. The refrigerators have egg holders for that purpose.
Call me strange....:shifty:

Ugh don't put chocolate in the fridge.
Or sauces. That's just wrong. Who wants hot fries (chips for you, @Emma&pico )) with cold sauce.?

Heinz actually confirmed that Ketchup lives in the fridge once opened. So I store all tomato sauce in the fridge after opening.
HP can live in a dark cupboard after opening.
And chocolate I have to refrigerate in the summer or it's mushy. But I prefer not to have it in the fridge. In the UK I didn't store chocolate in the fridge.

Here we get a mix of washed and non washed eggs. If I buy from the side of the road (farm driveway or many smaller stores who sell for locals) then they are usually safe to leave out of the fridge but buying from the supermarket means they must be refrigerated as they have been washed or already chilled which means they need to be kept chilled.

I think you may find many sauces including many chocolate sauces are supposed to be stored in the fridge after opening. They can grow mold and other dangerous bacteria just like many other foods can and in food service we were always told our sauces had to be stored in the cool room when not being used and we were encouraged to offer small bottles that we filled up to the customers and keep the huge jars/bottles in the cool room. Leaving sauces out at room temp to me is the same as leaving butter out on the bench all week... you just do not do it!

I keep my eggs in the fridge, they last longer but I always finish them before there end date. I buy 30 eggs at a time and I give my birds one boiled egg each morning so I boil about 6 of them to keep in the fridge for the birds so I don't have to boil them in the morning.

If you are making a cup of tea put a few eggs in the kettle, that way you cook eggs at the same time.

Quails eggs are very expensive here in the UK and not easy to find. I rescued two button quails a couple of months ago but they are both male so I wont be getting any eggs from them. I'm hoping to find them a couple of females, they are said to lay eggs like crazy so I could potentially supply my own organic quail eggs.
