I have no idea what’s going on with my Ozzies ankle (hock). I don’t know the technical term for it. It’s the left ankle in the photos. My son called me and said he noticed it today. The pictures make it look like a hole. It’s not a hole. It’s flat but obviously dark and discolored. He’s been eating, drinking. Pooping fine. Doesn’t act like he’s in pain. But I know birds hide illness. I called our avian specialist and they’re closed until Monday. I called 2 other vets in the area that see birds and they’re closed until Monday too. He’s walking and acting normal. Is this a pressure sore? He has flat perches and different sized diameter natural perches. I don’t know what could have caused this. I hope he’s not over weight. He eats a rounded diet. He gets fresh chop and China Prarie soaked and sprouted seeds and grains. TOPS pellets and seed. I will call first thing Monday for him to get checked. I’m so worried this is bad. I feel sick.

Just following up. He’s fine. He had the beginnings of Bumble Foot from his flat perches he always sat on. I threw those away and he’s on a 10 day course on antibiotics and cream for his hock. He’s already much better and healing well since a week ago.
