Prayers for Baby Sprite Please

Oh! SMH. Yes. He is eating, but he eats for a very long time... like 1/2 hour at a time. So she said feed him baby food/formula. Thanks for the reminder!

Didn't realize, for some reason, that you named him "Sprite". Thought you named him "Rambo". Glad you went with "Sprite" instead.

Yes I changed it. He isn't Rambo-like. If he's been sick all along perhaps that would explain it. He isn't like any of my other parrotlets.

It's so rough taking them to the vet when they are so sick. It just exhausts them.

Poor little dude. I hope the medications help. 20g is a light parrotlet. I hope he gains a bit and gets stronger again. Grey poop is scary. I hope the test results come in quickly.

Did they run bloods? Where are they sending the sample? It is best for parrotlets to get blood work done at the same clinic that does the draw. If they need to ship the sample out, the tiny amount of blood a light/weak parrotlet can give up is so small that it will not be viable for long.

Where are they sending the sample

I know their lab is in Florida but I don’t know where exactly. I did’t realize that (about shipping). I didn’t want to go to this vet; I use 2 different vets, one north of me and one south. This morning I phoned the other one and their phones went down while I was on hold. I called back a bunch of times and finally sent an email ... but then they’d already filled up until Wed. He was on the floor wobbling and falling over so I hung up and called this one, my #2 vet.

He is feeling a little better now so maybe their med will work.

He’s a little better. Definitely likes the heat. She said give him formula— he doesn’t want it.

He is on a low perch and not falling! I call that a victory.

Both good ideas. I'll do that now. He has rejected his sprouts today. Millet is a fave though

Can you mix some organic baby applesauce into the formula? Gives it a better taste.
Hope he starts eating and drinking more and continues to improve. It's great that he is able to perch again.
