She was offering her foot but kept giving me crazy eyes when i tried to give her my hand lol.

Finally got her out...she wanted out badly but is having issues navigating the cage

Yesterday she only ate sunflower seeds and safflower seeds. Today she ate some quinoa and carrot! So she isn't a total lost cause

I don't think she can fly. Or doesn't know how. She had a lot of problems going from playstand to cage so I had to give her a bridge. She acts like she needs permission to go anywhere

LOL I love your little bridge to the play stand. It took Rupert ages to trust/use the rope perch bridge I set between his flight and the play area.

She sounds so much like Rupert... she wants to venture out, but is scared and needs encouragement ("permission") to do so.

Haha I already had used all my other rope perches for her!! I might need a few more

Still fine tuning! Never had a bird refuse to use her wings to get somewhere!

That was a Craigslist find 4 years ago! $200. Saw it and didn't really need it at the time but for the price I scooped it up! Very happy I did as I hear Jardines can be hard on powdercoating.

No pellets in her yet but if she eats veggies I can at least add some vitamins easily to that! Also hasn't touched any toys yet but I keep reminding myself its been like 24 hours! Hard to be patient when you just want them happy

Well after thinking Ripley can't fly, she proved me wrong and ended up on the floor and then beeped at me until I rescued her. This was the first time we trusted each other with a step up so we were both nervous. Then she made herself at home...



Was there about 5 minutes before she decided to go to the couch lol.

One thing the close distance showed was she definitely has something respiratory going on Raspy breath right after her labored flight. She had no lift and flew like she's clipped. Once she regained her breath the raspy sound went away.

Okay so away from the cage she's eating, drinking, and crawling all over me . Almost took food right out of my mouth! I am basically letting her eat whatever she wants right now until I know for sure what is wrong with her. Figure she needs all the calories she can get! She is mostly looking for seeds but is occasionally eating other stuff too

It's doubtful if she had much chance to fly before...I'd think that flying now is going to tax her system...but hey, I'm not an expert on anything. At least she IS flying...that's a good sign...and eating...another great sign!

I am. Hubby wasn't at first. But then he realized he couldn't do much from Florida and gave in

Strange, Pavi has appeared while the DH is away..... birds do that at my house a lot.
