I have been asked to foster a Port Lincoln Rosella, which from my research is a species / genus austrailian ringneck. This bird is about 25 years old and has a disability. He cannot use one of his legs, so I am going to purchase a rabbit cage and ensure he has enough flat perches.
Diet seems similar to my hookbills. Is there anything that I should know about this species that I have not found online? You know, those experience information nuggets :)

Port Lincoln parrots are Australian grass parakeets. They usually do not enjoy being handled, so it is best not to push them on this. Their diet is similar to that of cockatiels.

They are typically more aviary/hands off type of birds rather than being pet/friendly birds.

Seeds/pellets with lots of fresh foods.
