Poppers had a pretty big stroke /seizure this morning. Was a bad one!! I honestly thought this was it, she was going to go.
She couldn't hold herself up, couldn't hold head up, both wings out, feet straight out, wimpering.
I kept her warm, and wrapped petting her while wife was on phone to vet.
Said to give it 20-30 minutes. We did and she's back to normal, exhausted but back.....God is this scary as he11!!!!!
My nerves are rattled!I
5 minutes after episode......

Thinking of you , your wife and of course Poppers. I know that it is so scary, but you have got this. You doing the right thing, comforting her, get her meds in ,feeding her. Hopefully this will slacken off soon.

:sad11: What a horrible, helpless feeling to see her go though that and having to just wait it out. Is it scary for Poppers, too? :sadhug2: My prayers are with all of you.

I just sent you some possible medical questions that you should ask the vet to answer. I hope I'm way off on this...

Oh no not again. Poor Poppers.
I’m so sorry she’s going through this and you have to watch while feeling so helpless :hug8:

I really hope they can sort something out so she’s much more stable and doesn’t have to experience this stuff so often.

I grew up with golden retriever Raggsy who had seizures. All we could do was to watch, comfort him. He was on human anti seizure medication, dilatin. He was always so frightened afterwards. We would clean him up, stabilize him walking until he was ok to walk. He would find a safe place and sleep alot after a bad one. Michael I know how scary it is for you. Hang in there, she loves you and needs you.

Poor baby. Hoping the vet can get her on meds to control them.

I hope so, vet warned me to be prepared ( which I have been) that the medication can cause some of the plaque in her arteries to break off and she'll have these episodes.
Part of me is banging my head against wall wondering how "she" had plaque, yet my grey, senny, and budgy were on same diet as poppers..yet they are healthy as ox's .
Poppers didn't come to me till she was 7 yrs old. She's 14 now. No idea how her diet was before. So it's baffling to me.
