I used to really be into planted tanks for awhile. Keeping them really nice is a huge challenge. When I started getting more birds, I gave up some of my tanks. Then I set this tank up and it was just a mishmosh of stuff leftover. It had too much light, and it suffered from big algae outbreaks. I finally swapped out to lower lighting, and the algae subsided. I think it's looking much better.

Nice tank.
Know what you mean. Been thinking about shutting down my 75 gallon not to get more birds but so I have room for more play areas for the birds I have.

Very pretty. I've always loved the looks of planted tanks.

Great looking tank! Ever thought of doing DIY C02? I had too much light on my 29, so I tried the plastic bottle/sugar/yeast idea and it worked fantastically! And you just have to re-mix every 3 weeks or so, it's easy peasy.

But, now that it's summer and I am outside more, I have less time to devote to my tanks. My 29 looks pretty shabby right now, I am fixing it this weekend! I am currently at the "pulling globs of algae out daily" phase LOL.

ALSO, I've seen your posts on planted tank forum, I can tell because of your birds. I think I send you a PM once. Envious beyond belief.

Hi Hillari, hope all is well.:hug8: Thanks for the compliments. I did pressurized CO2, but discovered the type of fish and critters I like to keep hated it. I have a system I paid way too much for, that I will never use again. Oh well. I had big problems with algae too. I did better when I just had nanos with excel & a little other ferts.
This tank has Dario Dario, Sumatran gobys, a couple threadfin rainbows, a hara jerdoni, some CRS and horned nerites. And my prized possesion, indostomus paradoxus, and indostomus crocodilus. They look like tiny prehistoric fw pipefish.:)
