Hi. I'm very new to this.
Do I have to worm my parakeets? I've had them for about 8 months.
They are eating well and drinking. They seem healthy but I never thought of them getting/having worms.
Thanks

It is a good idea to provide parasite treatments with some regularity. Ivermectin is a safe.

You could talk with your avian vet about the best frequency for your area. Sometimes it is suggested to do with with seasonal changes, or others recommendation a certain time frame like every 6 months etc. Your avian vet will probably have advice on this since they will be aware of the trends in your climate/location.

Always have an accurate weight of your bird before you medicate. Guessing can lead to improper doses that can be dangerous.
