Since MC Birds started a thread showing Remer I though I would show my first overgrown beak that I had to deal with. This poor bird did have some liver problems, she was also being fed hamster food and lived in awful living conditions.
The vet was afraid that she had the start of scaly face so she was treated for that as well.
I did take her to have her beak trimmed, and I have before and after pics. She was very friendly even though the owner said she was aggressive. She was adopted out to a wonderful home! They love her and give me regular updates.

What makes some birds beak grow so long? Is it that the bird doesn't have the right things to wear it off itself?

Birds need to chew first of all and this bird was given nothing, she had a poor diet of hamster food and she had liver problems which can also make the beak over grow.
