Just got back from the vet, and Dr. Dixon says he's a little dehydrated but doing very well otherwise.
He sent us home worth a lot of medicine: 3 day's worth of Metoclopromide to stimulate his crop
2 weeks' worth of Enrofloxacin
And 2 weeks' worth of Metacam.

Thankfully, he hasn't lost any weight, and he was quite playful the entire time, chewing up my zipper and teaching his blanket a lesson. Now he's rattling his bell in good spirits, which makes me happy.

I also got approved for CareCredit, so his prosthetic is essentially paid for. Just have to make the 3 hour trip to Knoxville

I wonder if fluroquinolones are as dangerous for animals to take as they are for humans? The black box warning says to be careful prescribing. The FDA just added another warning. The doctor I used to work for stopped prescribing it all together.

Java looks so much like a Pi in one of his photos - his beak is much chunkier and he's bigger, but there's something about those big dark mischievous eyes that's very familiar! <3

If he was dehydrated,,,a little,,,did they give him subQ fluids? Or tell you how to hydrate? I'm so glad it wasnt too serious,,, metacam and enrofloxin " baytril " are my best friends around here.

For the most part. Once he sees the syringe, he's pretty cooperative unless it's a flavor he doesn't like, then I have to hide it in something
