I'm so happy he's ok and was able to stay airborne. Another reason healthy birds need to be able to fly. Every time something happens like that our safety protocol changes. He looks happy to be safe and loved with mom.

Bet it took you longer to calm down and get your heart rate under control than it took Rudy to get back to normal. I've been there trying to stop Nerd from eating Beeper when she flew into his cage and I had to stop him and grab her before he tore her to shreds. He was screaming, she was beeping, I was screaming but nobody got hurt though I probably got bit, didn't care and can't remember. Good on you for crashing over everything to save him, and lucky you weren't hurt but I know you didn't care in the moment, adrenaline will do that.

So glad you saved Beeper! Rudy sat quietly with me for a while then vigorously fluffed his feathers and proceeded to do his signature preening. I put him in his cage and went to verify with Jack that no cat had touched him. One of us had him in sight the whole time and he was flying the whole time.
