i did not want to ask about this but i couldnt find good info... sometimes gabby lunges at orion, but only when there is food or treats involved. since they are caged obviously there is food nearby pretty much all the time. im wondering if i need to worry about this behavior.

I believe lunging in a captive bird is a possessive behavior. Its kind of a pre-bite letting you know what may be coming. When it is directed at another bird that is caged with this bird I would be concerned. Do you have enough food dishes for two birds?

Here is a good read on the subject: Lunging Birds | Beauty Of Birds

I would cage them separately if I were you.
