I lost Nua on her hatch day. I went to school and she always loved to find a way out. She tried to escape and she suffocated between one of the water dishes in the corner. She couldn't get her head out. I should've gotten home earlier. Bash me all you want for being an idiot who couldn't place his waterbowl correctly so that my bird couldn't die

I'm so sorry it's awful to feel like you caused it. I accidentally lit my gas stove and caught a large plastic butter container on fire this summer. I lost 2 of my birds that I had for over a decade because of the toxic fumes. We have to forgive ourselves because if we don't we won't be of use to other birds who need us. It takes time and it feels so horrible. never in a million years would something like this be intentional...I'm so sorry for your loss...

Why would I want to bash a broken-hearted person who, at worst, made an innocent mistake but more likely... well birds are really accident prone. It's almost impossible to predict the crazy things they will do. No bashing, I'm deeply sorry for your loss, try not to blame yourself.

All we can ever do is our best. Some people only get one chance when something goes wrong, not even a hint or warning something might be unsafe. It's unfair, and it's not your fault. I'm so sorry you were one of the people that were only given one chance.

So truly sorry for your loss. I worry 24/7 that I will lose my little TD to a myriad of possible threats. Living full time in an RV sometimes means having to have repairs done while the family is inside. Repairmen think I am crazy when I demand to know every type of material they will be using near my bird.

I almost killed him just weeks after rescuing him from the drug house by turning on the propane stove to make coffee and not realizing that the flame had gone out and the RV was filling up with propane. All bcuz I went out to smoke a stupid cigarette!

I know nothing we say will stop you from feeling guilty, but know that no one here would bash you or blame you. We're on your side...not the other way around.
