The new home has an enclosed courtyard that we can let the cats out into, but Skye is not sure about this whole outside thing.

Sky is a really beautiful kitty and ever so cautious too. When we had cats, ours were like Skye, very cautious and so scaredy-cat (good thing since we lived in suburbs). Kit-Kat and Squawk would ask to go out, so I'd let them out the kitchen door. One car would go by the front of the house and Kit-Kat would be calling to be let in while I'd have to detach Squawk from either the screen door or the brick façade. Squawk had the inane capability of climbing both screens and brick. I'd open the kitchen door to a bullet of Kit-Kat zooming in and I'd be staring Squawk in the face.

That's the exact opposite of my old tomcat, he used to roll around in the grass and chase the moths

The guys are always more laid back aren't they? George was like that. The only thing that I ever saw make him run was a raccoon mother coming around the corner of the deck (followed by kits which we couldn't see). He couldn't get into the house fast enough. Neither could I for that matter.
