Hi,
I recently saw that my female budgie nose had blood around it and had some blood on her feathers on her head. I am a bit concerned. I do have a male in the cage with her, but they are currently not breeding. Can you guys give me some advice on what could have happened or how to prevent it from happening?

Thanks,
Parakeet Lover.

Be very careful. I have seen budgie s peck another bird until death. Can you temporarily separate them?

As mentioned above, it would be best to separate them for a while. Sometimes they just get in a cranky mood and don't want anything to do with each other, and can seriously harm each other.

I separated them for a while but the male wants to mate and the female does not. So the female will sometimes peck at the male when he gets crazy.
