Wonder if these are being bred since I have never seen any available in the US. Maybe in other countries?

I doubt that they're being bred deliberately in aviculture if they're so poorly known. However, I would suspect that some may have been imported as Meyers and that there might be mostly-Meyers-with-a-tiny-bit-of-Niam-niam parrots being kept as pets.
