After having to have our 15 year old Border Collie Cheyenne put down last January, my wife and I have been looking for another one. We've had Border Collies for over 30 years. My wife found a farm family in Enid, OK about an hour and a half from where we live that was expecting a litter soon. We put a deposit down for first pick of the females. The litter was born this past Sunday, 3 females and 3 males, all healthy and from pure bred working dogs. The attached picture is the 3 females. Our pick is the one out front with the spot on the top of her head. We are going to see her in 3-4 weeks and will go get her in 8 weeks. Still looking for names. We've had Cherokee Zack, Dakota Sun and Cheyenne Moon. (I'm half Cherokee and my wife is quarter Muskogee Creek.) I like the name Inola (ee-NO-lah) which is Cherokee for black fox but my wife not so much. Anyway, we are excited about our soon to be newest companion. 5260.jpeg

I love herding dogs as well, and currently have 2 English shepherds. I'd be too scared to pick one based on looks though... Some of them are pretty intense!! You're very brave! And she'll be a beautiful girl!

I really like Inola! It's a good name made better by its cute meaning. Maybe she'd accept Inola Star?

We visited their farm and spent time with their adult dogs. They are very calm attentive working dogs with goats and cattle. I've been around some Borders that were from excellent bloodlines but totally hyper and untrainable. All ours have come from farm raised working stock and have been the perfect cross between family pets and working herders.
