Why do you want to breed them when there is an overpopulation of them in pet stores?

If you do not have "extensive" bird experience along with a physical mentor you should not be breeding anything. Please reconsider.

hi,
new here. i have a confusing problem. I have 2 lovebirds one named Pilu and naruto. pilu is along with us from very long about a year and naruto is only about 1 month.
Pilu is not afread of hand but generally doesn't like sitting on the finget for long (even 30 second is long time), where as naruto is very afraid of hand. Both are afraid of everything thats new even paper that is in my hand. i keep the door of the cage open for them to come out themselves and at night before i go to bed i made a routine of doing things in order to make them understand its time to go inside. and that is the only time both is willing to sit on my finger and be carried to the cage door. Initially it was hard, but now its easy with naruto and pilu flies few times but in 2-3 tries he as well is ready to go to the cage for the night.

the problem is i cant get naruto to sit on my finger any other time then at night. i cant get them to trust me. and they dont want to take shower.

please help me.

@Colleen Fortin I think that many things could go wrong, so it would be best if you had an experienced person to help you. Have you had your two budgies long?

Id like to keep them.
So what happens when the parents decide to not raise the chicks or don't have a clue how? How will you intervene to make sure they survive? Your going to need very skilled hand feeding techniques for such tiny babies.

What kind of brooder setup do you have? Gonna need one of those too.

What happens when these siblings grow up and want to breed? You can't let them breed with each other because that is going to cause genetic problems.

How many chicks do you want? Once the birds are breeding there is no off button. They will continue to produce offspring every season. And then those birds will want to breed. And so on.

How many environments do you have? Hopefully a few because all these related birds will need their own environments to prevent inbreeding and unwanted breeding.

If you want a few more birds go rescue a few and concentrate on providing them a great life/environment. Leave the breeding to mother nature. Please.

Fleur (blue boy) and Cricket (yellow girl). Cricket was given to me at 7 months. Fleur from bird aviary at someone's home. Fleur full of personality but cricket is not so. She can be down right mean.
Are females always like this?
