New piggie...

Wife brought home a guinea pig today. His name is Irving, and he's a young one...my guess is less than two months old.

Milton has already "met" Irving...he fully displayed, hissed, and rattled his cage bars with his beak at Irving while wife was setting up his cage.

I adore cavies and had several throughout my teens and 20s. At about 30 I suddenly became terribly allergic to all small animals except dogs and cats. When I turned 42 I became severely allergic to cats, causing severe asthma. The cat allergy has become decreased, thank goodness, around 55 and I can now have eight or ten cats without problems.

But I really miss Guinea Pigs. I tried one three years ago and had terrible rash, asthma and raw throat. No piggies.

Irving joins our other piggie, Harvey. Harv's a "Teddy Bear" piggie, about 5 years old. Harvey and Irving have already met...with Harv trying to be "dominant" pig and Irving trying to curl up next to Harvey.
When we were young- a long, LONG time ago, we always had piggies...
