Every bird is different, while you may have heard stories about some people buying birds and seemingly bonding with them in a 24 hour period, that is a very rare thing for a bird to do. More commonly the bird takes much longer to bond. MY dads bird (a white eyed conure) took a long time to bond, my cockatiel nigel was doing stepping up and playing around with me in the second day.
