Thank you. He ships in February to Miami from Indonesia. @gibsongrrrl how do you think they get here? :D No name ideas except Phoenix. It has to be special.
I have an established tank for him. I had to give up my 4 Licorice Gouramis and 4 Scarlet badis when my cultures were not doing well.
This fish will go in this tank
{this is an older pic}

I also picked up a pink crowntail the other day. No name for him either, and no pics yet.
OHM means over half moon

he's beautiful!
I had no idea you could ship fish. how does that work?
The breeder/seller ships to a transhipper in his country, that costs you about $5.00. Then that transhipper ships a shipment of hundreds to the transhipper in your country. I have chosen Jesse since it is cold across the US, and he is in Miami. Then the transhipper ships him to you. I always choose overnight shipping. Depending on how far the fish has to go, that can be $28-$35.00.

So are they shipped in bags or containers that don't leak? Would love to see what he arrives in now that I know there is no water railroad they travel on :D

Generally the right way is-double or triple bagged,set into soft filler material in a styrofoam lined box, with a heat pad in winter, ice pack in summer, or no pack when the temps are right. Temps in the cargo hold of a plane are generally 20 degrees less than that of the ground, give or take. I have had great awesome shipments, where you can absolutely tell the seller really cares for the fish. And I have had horrendous shipments, where they simply tossed a single bag in an unlined box. Thankfully the latter only happened a couple times. It makes me so angry! :mad:

Photographing the fish for sale properly is a HUGE part of the attraction to fish in an auction. Notice how the seller used a green background to enhance his coloring. ;)
