This is Darwin the greater vasa parrot. Ive been waiting to get a vasa for 6 years now :dance5: He/she still has several weeks before she/he can come home so I'm dying of anticipation :excited2: At 3 hours away we can't visit much, but his caregiver promised to send pics. Hope to post much about him/her for those curious about vasas. As I learn about him I'll share. :bliss:

What a doll! •Vasa;s are wonderful pets. •They wean pretty darn quick and you will have him home in no time.•:cloud9:•••They are also marvelous flyers! •He should be a great eater and eat just about anything you offer. •The feather color is just beautiful with all the shades of grey.

Welcome! •:bounce7:

Edit: Oh, looks like you are not the person I thought you were. There is another Darwin vasa on youtube too.

But I'm glad you're here anyway! I'm hoping to get a vasa soonish too and love having more vasa owners on the forum. :3

I just saw him today on youtube for the first time! I considered changing the name (as I will be posting on youtube as well), but I am an evolution major so it only seems fitting I have a bird named Darwin (and someday a quaker named Wallace;)))

Darwin is a lovely name, especially for a vasa since they're like the missing link between parrots and raptors. :p
