Hi y'all. I have one Quaker named Larry that is super tame and very sweet. I just got another one on Thursday, his name is Gizmo. I know you can't tell age once they are grown but this one appears young. He is smaller than Larry. He also does this weird thing when I approach his cage where he opens his mouth super wide and just sits there like that. I've never seen Larry do it. He is not tame so I will be working on that just like I did with Larry. Anyone have any thoughts could this indicate that he's a younger baby?

    Thanks

    Congrats on getting Gizmo!
It's hard to guess from the description but if you could get a video maybe we could get a better idea of what it means.

Size usually has nothing to do with age. I'm pretty sure Jingo is older than Bobber, but Bobber is like 30 grams bigger.

A wide open mouth is usually a precursor to biting...ie a warning. Telling you to back off.

After about 12 months its really hard to discern their age beyond "baby" and "adult"
