Our new adoption - Rocky. Ten year old WBC. Plucked. He/she seems sweet so far. A real cuddlebug!
I do see the stubborn side but no biting yet. Bloodwork was done but I need to look up what it all means as it is not in the format I've seen through our vet. I think it was all normal though except for one reading in the notes it says can be due to stress (and since the bird was given up to a rescue and vetted, it may have had high stress levels).
So, the previous owner gave up the bird citing her own health issues (asthma) but "health reasons" and "no time" which are usually the top two "excuses" people turn over their birds... I think they probably tired of her high pitched beeping sound that sounds like the low battery alert of a smoke detector! Who knows? Anyway, wondering what may be causes of plucking in caiques and what to have her/him checked for??
Thanks for any suggestions.
