I have a 14.5 year old Umbrella Cockatoo (we've had him for 13.0 years) and we're looking to re-home him due to having a foster-to-adopt child.
We live west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Name of Bird: Zoey
Species: Umbrella Cockatoo
Age: 14.5 Years (believe hatch date was 5/12/2005)
Gender: unknown (believe he is male)
How long have you owned: 13.0 Years
Describe this bird: Active, Playful, Social, Affectionate, Normal Cockatoo Destruction and Volume, Friendly, Hand-Tame.
How much time did the bird spend out of his/her cage on a daily basis? Regular weekday routine 30-60 minutes morning, 3 to 4 hours evening. Regular weekend time out of cage on weekends, up to an additional 1 to 3 hours. During warm weather, bird is supervised outside at times of up to an hour outside in tree or chilling out on patio furniture. Bird is not a T-Stand bird, but loves to play inside paper bags on the counter top filled with chewable wood and plastic toys.
How is the bird with children? Boundary is kept between bird and child(ren) depending on owners’ perspective on child(ren)’s comfortability. Bird has been taken on walks and to parks, where children want to see, touch and hold on their arm the bird. Again depending on comfortability and capacity of child, owner’s have provided a safe boundary between child(ren) and bird. Currently in the owners’ house, is a growing and “reaching” in height and arms length foster child is at height of counter top in kitchen where bird is allowed to play.

Ages of children exposed to: 6-12+ (at parks and neighborhood)
What other types of pets has the bird been exposed to? African Grey 13.5 Years.
What does the bird eat? Pretty bird medium as base nutrition. Enjoys common human foods, peanuts and treats.
Does the bird have any medical problems? No.
Is there any other information you’d like us to know? While he has been in a home with caring “mother and father”, he was more attached and friendly with the female person, than a male.

We're interested in maintaining some pictures and correspondence, post-placement or sale. This is a hard thing for us to do.
