I sometimes believe an animal ( or bird) can live up to a name. I rode a friends horse many years ago when I lived in Spain. The horse was a gelding named "Terremoto"... Spanish meaning Earthquake. As his name would suggest... on one particular ride the ground was smooth on an open area and without warning this horse proceeded to crow hop with some little bucks thrown in. It wasn't a full blown earthquake but enough for me to not want to ride him again. He was just too unpredictable! My own horse, a 3/4 Arab/Spanish mix was a mare named Scintilla, meaning spark, a hint or trace of something that barely suggests its presence. She was a dapple grey around 5-6 years old when I bought her. She almost killed me a couple of times but I always got back on... I loved that horse. I called her Cindy. If I ever complain about my back..... now you know why! ( killing me at the moment... those advil aren't helping)
