My poor sunny

My poor sunny has had a rough week or so , as you guys know she is sick and has a upper respiratory infection. Her right nare is still a little red but other wise from what I can tell she doing a little better. The other day though she was eatting and would let out a scream every other pellet. I thought she may have had a sore on her tongue or something . We switched her to the parakeet size pellets and she has not screamed since but is now constantly bitting on things and rubbing her beak on everything. She is going back on Friday for her follow up so I will have the vet look at it then. Any idea on what might be going on?

Add a little water to her pellets sounds like her beak is slightly sensitive and it hurts to eat them.

Maiboch had that same issue at one point.

Luckily we had some . Charlie still has a hard time with the ‘teil sized pellets.

Poor birdie. Maybe just try giving her soft food for now? I hope she feels better soon.

Poor baby. I'm glad she's eating and active again. Also a good idea to have changed to the parakeet sized pellets, sometimes they're more manageable to eat. Not sure the rubbing and biting on stuff...could it be irritating for her? Just 3 more days!

I was thinking.. Does is come some fluid from her nostrils?
If so perhaps it runs down on her beak and that irritating her.

Milton eats baby food for most dinners. He came to us with that oddity. We discussed it with our AV who said as long as he was eating pellets and other food it was OK.
One caveat...baby food will produce loose poops,...almost to the point of runny...it's a normal side effect...

I can’t decide if her nose is still swollen are not , it was the right nare. She back to being really sleepy today. It’s hard to decided if it’s the side effects of the medication or the medication is not working. She not getting worse I just hope I’m right when I say she’s getting better . She did eat though while I was at work . The stuff around her mouth is medication she spit out it’s really sticky and hard to come off

And the crazy thing is if I cover her up. She comes down and eats.

Actually, Buddy surprises me...he's always eating...and never gains any weight...he's a rock steady 135g...

Thats like sunny last time she went she was 122 grams.
