I had a new pond put in this past June. My old one was only about 400 gallons this one is over a 1000 gallons. It took a few months for the plants to start to grow but now that they have I love how it looks.

Wow Robyn, that's absolutely beautiful! How many fish total?
I'm not sure how many. Right after I put it in a blue heron came and I thought it got all the fish so I bought 6 more and it turns out they were just hiding and the all the fish had babies. The man who put the pond in was supposed to take the babies but changed his mind. So right now I have too many fish but I found someone else to take them but not till the spring.

that is gorgeous! i love koi, so beautiful!

do you have to take the fish out over the winter? i'd have something like that in my yard, but here it would freeze solid and kill all the fish and all but indigenous plant life.

Thanks Matt
I leave the fish in the pond during the winter. As long as one area of it dosen't freeze and its deep enough the fish are fine

it is gorgeous!! I had plants in mine - iris, lillies and something like a bottlebrush and took in the DIL's turtle when they had to move to CA for a year - apparently he doesn't like the bottlebrush looking ones - the rest must have been pretty tasty :faint:

Gorgeous pond & fish. You have a lot of different colors, great variety. I love the pebble beach feature, I bet the wild birds do too! :)
