Hi, I have a quick question-- my Carlos loves swiss cheese and grabs it out of my hand.
I feed him/her.... thought it was a male when I purchased, but turned out to be female.
Anyway, love Carlos-- he is a finicky eater, but goes crazy over cheese? is it safe to eat?

A bit of cheese isn't going to kill him, but it isn't healthy for him either. Birds don't take dairy too well, they just don't have the enzymes to digest it like mammals do. I give my guy a crumb of cheese or a sip of milk every now and then when I see that he's dying to try some (I eat breakfast with him and he always wants what I'm eating), but no more than that.

Like most foods, feed in moderation.

It's ok as a special treat but it's not very healthy.

@jbarkan I have never known linnie that was not a good eater. What is the diet? Mine devour just about everything I give them. Have you tried different ways of presenting it? Best way I know of is to get another linnie so they will share together.
