Hey AA, I've started to notice recently that my budgie's tail is bobbing. He is still the same active bird. She still flies around crazy with his friend. She still sings crazy, but I'm starting to get worried that she may be ill. I captured it on video. He seems to be only doing this only when he's in the cage. His posture looks quite bent compared to the other bird who is upright. I'm planning on taking hiim to the vet during this week, but I would sure appreciate some guesses onto why this is happening. Thanks!

There are so many reasons a budgies tail might bob, which is why the vet visit is your best bet. There’s just no way to tell without an examination.

Very possibly could be a breathing problem - and there are many causes of breathing problems. It will take a vet to identify exactly what his issue is.

Keep in mind that a slight tail bob is totally normal (and it appears to be normal to me in this vid) Tails are used to help balance a budgie in flight and while perched, and this slight bobbing is nothing to be worried about.

With that being said, keep your vet appointment just to make sure nothing is wrong. Wishing you all the best!
