She came out again after a few days of staying in her cage.

Yes, she is an Indian Ringneck. She I'd about 3 years old. She was given to me by the people I bird sit for because they just felt like they had more than they can handle. They are nice people, but they don't give the birds much (if any) out of cage time.
So, my little Chiquita is cage bound. I'm trying to teach her that it is safe to come out.

I've see them (IR) in a ton of Y. Tube videos. Bless your heart for taking her in to give her a better life. How do they get the ring? Is it a sex thing an age thing? Please keep sending pics/videos as she's a looker! I love her lemon yellow color.

The males developed a ring with sexual maturity, the females don't, or just developed a very faint one.

Well she's very beautiful. Most of the time I personally do not like yellow. She really has some beautiful shimmery lemon yellow. Do you know how old she is? Does she mainly eat fresh? My guys feathers really became beautiful & shimmery when he started getting fresh & his diet changed from what I believe was seed & dried to mainly fresh w/ a small amount of the poor diet items each day. I was just curious. Sorry for all the ?'s.

She is 3 years old, and she has both high quality bird food and lots of fresh food daily. She loves her fresh food!

Usually yellow isn't my favorite color either, but on her it is beautiful.

I really think that fresh adds so much for their feathers. I do like dried fruit but for them as a treat or I always add a few small pieces to the super small amount of seed my guy gets. The vet pushes the red palm oil to this day I'm still not clear on. There's oils in the many of the veggies why add more oil?

Healthy & Happy that's most important at the end of the day.

...been studying the pics...it looks like Chiquita really doesn't have much of a ring...is that the way she is, or maybe a faint ring that pictures don't do justice to?

Either way, she's beautiful...
