Pictures My birds cloned their family!

Quick backstory: In August, Aldora and Jaime's (only) 2 eggs hatched and Nube and Lapis joined our family. Aldora is a whitefaced violet hen, Jaime is turquoise, Lapis is similar to Aldora but a little toned down and Nube is white faced edge dilute.

I call the four of them The Blue Team.

In December, Aldoras eggs hatched and out came 5 chicks (one sadly passed away 2 days later).

So now the feathers have come through and I'm spooked by the colours I see.


Eldest chick Petín looks just like Lapis.
Second eldest Saatchi looks like Jaime.
Second youngest, no name, looks like Aldora.
And last night the youngests feathers finally started to come through and lo and behold... He looks like Nube!

The chicks aren't similar to my existing blue team, they're identical.

The colours can look quite similar under certain lights, only when I use a light can I see clearly.

So I now have a Mini Blue team!

I would love to get a photo of all 8 together but that will never happen

Also, unfortunately I cannot keep these birds, which is very sad.
In less than a week they'll all be in their forever homes. I'm just trying to enjoy the little time I have left with them

Omg so cute! That bright turquoise blue on Jaime's clone is really noticeable already, that's the color of my lovebird. Aldora is gorgeous. So adorable how they all have clones!

It´s funny to go back and see my posts from before knew i was going to keep her... or that she is a she even

The second youngest bird was named Blue.

When I posted this, the two youngest were supposed to go to my boyfriends friend. But his girlfried was umming and arring, so I said no they can´t have them.
I didn´t want them to accept the birds because they were free, and then later decide they didn´t want them.
I would have lost my mind if I had given them Blue and Adelie and they gave my little Adelie away. ¨lost my mind¨ is a serious understatement.

Blue lives with my neighbours friend. They came by last week and brought Blue to play with my neighbours bird, Vichy.

Oh yea. She stayed fluffy for sooooo long too. Normally the fluffy stage lasts a week or so but Adélie was like that for a long time. She grew verrryyyy slowly.

But giving the two eldest chicks to my friend was ok. The joy the birds bring to my friends life, brings me joy.
I know those birds are taken care of, and loved.
As sad as it was to see them go, they will have a better life with my friend and her husband, than they would have done with me.
