Hi Bf!:hug8:
He will float upside down, swim upside down, and face plant in the corner and stay there. In other words, he is having buoyancy issues with his swim bladder. These issues are an effect of something, not a disease. With fish it is very difficult. You have to go through a process of elimination to find out the cause. A lady is helping me on a goldfish forum. She said it could possibly be my morning feeding of Hikari Lionhead. Some fish just can't handle it. So today they fast. Tomorrow it's small meals of peas. I did a huge water change last night. Nitrates were a bit high. This alone can cause issues, so I will be monitoring closely. The weird part is he will do these things, and then act perfectly fine.:what:

:( Awe Carole that stinks that he's got problems with that. Aren't the larger bellied GF subject to having this issue? I hope that is can be corrected. He's so pretty and well, fasting is always good, I fast my fish every few days. Is it the issue of the pellets being dry and then fed? I know I had read that with puffers you can feed pellets but they need to be moistened first so they don't expand inside of them.

Sending him healing prayers! :hug8:

I hope fasting helps!

It definitely sounds like some equilibrium issues going on there. It's so hard to tell with fish.

How old is he?

Beautiful tank btw.

Poor Mr. Magu. I will keep him in my prayers. I have heard that fasting can be very successful. I hope it works for him, he is so beautiful!

Thank you!:hug8: I have not really practiced fasting with the goldies. I do my other fish, so don't really know why I never did them. They always look so hungry, but then that's what fish do. You could be right on moistening the pellets. Will do more reading. A lot of people make their fish food for goldies, instead of using commercial food.

hope he feels better soon!
Thank you!:hug8:

Oh goodness, sending lots of prayers that you are able to figure out what the issue is and that Mr. Magu will be just fine :) :hug8: Sounds like you're doing a very good job of eliminating the potential causes.

Thank you Marian, Miriam, Natalie, and Cher.:hug8:
Today they seem fine! It may have just been the high nitrates bothering him. I am still going ahead as planned and do the fast. Fasting all the fish the same day sounds like a good plan too. Easy to remember that way. I will get a new video up.
