Milton decided to take a walk today. He strolled out to the front room (quite a trek) while I observed from a distance. When he got to the front room, he met my wife there....

Wife: What are you doing here?

Milton: "I PRETTY PRETTY MILTON!" (This is new, we've heard Milton call himself his name only once before in almost seven years)

Wife: (calling to me) Did you hear what he said? (I just nodded, I didn't want to interfere with Milty's train of thought)

Milton: "I LOVE IT...WANNA EAT NOW"... (Milty starts to walk into kitchen...wife walks in front of him)

Wife: If you want to eat, you have to go back to your cage...

Milton: "BUT WHY?"

Wife: Because I said so...GO NOW!

Milton runs back to the room, says "HI...BYE" to me as he runs/waddles by. When I turn the corner, he's on top of his cage.

Milton: "I BACK...WANNA EAT NOW"....

We gave him some apple slices for a treat...

The top of the cheek area where the plucking started is completely feathered over. Underneath his beak and on his throat is another matter. Very slow growth there, and Milty will still try to pull at it at times...usually when he thinks he's not getting enough attention. That's the time we give him something to do, like play fetch or "recycle" some junk mail- yeah, we still get it...and being election time, even more comes...;)

No, he's never done that...he considers your foot to be the "elevator" to give a boost up. He will get on your foot and look up at you...like he's saying "up, please". He hasn't said it while he's on your foot...yet...;)

A perfect Milton walk about, discussion, and outcome. He probably decided doing as requested will lead to his beloved meal request. Maybe chasing mom about hasn't led to what he desired. Lurch started to learn that pinching or biting my neck never led to whatever he'd wanted to happen, and I learned a few of the things he was doing it for.

Wow! Out really is like dealing with a child. He's a smart, strong, willful, clever, naughty fluffy child bird :devil:

In the morning, the first thing I do after uncovering Milton is to do the combination to the lock. I get to the last number, but I don't pull the lock open.
Well, I did that this morning, then we left the room to get the other birds up. Suddenly we hear something hit the floor in the bedroom. I go in....there's Milty sitting on the open door...and just as I walked in, he let his first morning poop out, which landed on the lock on the floor....of course.

It's not the poop I'm displeased about, it's the laugh Milty gave after he pooped...:smug:
