Messed Up Cere

For a while now Mickey has had what I call a messy cere. It was really rough and turned up at the edge.
I consulted with @PoukieBear last week. Also my groomer was here 5 days ago and thought the cere looked calloused. So we discussed options and I came up with the idea of using coconut oil. I applied a small amount every morning for the last few days and the transformation is amazing. So if you budgie has a messy looking cere and is not in hormonal condition (brown crusty) coconut oil may help.

I did not save the before photo but I do have the one I took today.

She is so pretty - and now she has a soft cere again with the oil. Your budgies are so lucky to have you. Does she mind you applying the coconut oil @Lady Jane ? Do you have to play 'catch her' first, or how does this happen?

Mickey is a little sweetheart. She lets me do anything. Well, not trim toe nails Groomer does that. Murphy on the other hand has never liked human touch but will step up easily.
