I've had dogs my whole life and couldn't see myself living without them. Being passionate about their well being and education, I have volunteered at a rescue for many years as a foster family... and that's how I adopted two of my canine friends.
Lucy lived the first two years of her life as a feral dog, roaming the streets of Romania... before crossing the path of an amazing woman fighting for dogs in her country and trying to do the best she can, considering her lack of money and help, with her local rescue. Because the living conditions are so bad, (especially in winter!!) she works with french rescues to transfer as many dogs as possible. Lucy was one of the lucky ones!
We fell in love with her sweet and crazy unique nature and couldn't let her go. She's now 8 years old, we've had her for more than 6 years now and she's still in perfect shape. She's amazing! considering where she comes from, she's adapted to us very fast and she just loves children, any animals and humans in general. She's so trusting! even though she's an emotional dog, she doesn't have a bad bone in her body. She will literally climb on our laps or hide under her covers shaking if there's a storm. (I think having lived through them out in the open must have been traumatising for her.) She's not always friendly with other dogs though and she needs plenty of excercice. She's VERY excitable!
So here's Lucy:
That's her "i've spotted a dog, it better not come near us face". And another unique trait she has? she actually digs proper dens in the garden that she actually uses to sleep in.
I'll introduce the other two very soon.
