The millies are here!

Meet Mallow and Akeley!

Mallow (1st pic) is a bumblebee millipede, and Akeley (2nd pic) is a smokey oak millipede! Both are female!

They share a 10 gallon tank, with some sticks to climb on, some yummy leaves for munching, and broken flowerpots and substrate for hiding!

They're already settled in, both have chosen hiding spots!!

Welcome home, buddies!

I agree with @rockoko!

They are pretty stinking cute! Is the Smokey Oak bigger then the Bumblebee?
Much bigger! The bumblebee is maybe about an inch long, maybe a bit longer, and the smokey oak is more like 2 or 3, and much thicker!

I must have spooked one of them, since I have discoloration that falls in line with "millipede burn" on 3 of my fingertips. There's no longterm affects, just kind of funky looking. Off to go put some Benadryl on!

They are not cute.

But I’m glad you enjoy them Taxi.

I'm waiting to slip up and call them by someone else's name! I have too many names to keep track of!
Welcome to my world!

Wow... They are so pretty!!! Congrats on your new, um... how would you describe their skin? (Birds being feathered friends, cats and dogs being furry friends, reptiles and fish being scaly friends... I took AP Bio in high school, I should know this! ) Well, congrats on your new tiny friends!!!

I am curious to see what their setup looks like. :) I was researching getting a pet reptile a while ago (before little Bucky bird got sick...RIP), and I became fascinated with the idea of bio active vivariums and such. I know your set up may not be bio active, but from you description it seems naturalistic. I am curious to see what kind of enclosure millies would live in.

Aww, I hate most bugs but millies are one of the few I'll willingly hang out with. The others being ladybugs and caterpillars. I kinda like butterflies but up close they are gosh darn ugly. But I digress. Welcome to the Avenue, lil girls!:D
