I wasn’t going to post him because he loooks rather.... abused. This is Clint. He’s over 20 years old, we don’t know exactly how old. He doesn’t have a crest and as you see his wingie is a little crooked.
I noticed the local shelter had him, and they keep tiels and toos together so the room is incredibly loud. I told hubby it was sad for him to be there and that I wanted to go look. Hubby usually oppposes anything like this but as we headed out the door he said “aren’t you going to take a carrier?”
So they said he was a bird with no name, and hubs said oh like the man with no name and called him Clint. Sigh. Whatever.
Well we brought him home of course. It’s been right around a month (I’ve lost track) and he likes Torrie *a whole lot* but he hasn’t figured out much about getting out of his cage. If he does manage to fly out, he can’t get back.
If you offer a hand he bites it, and if you offer a stick for stepping up he bites it but he does step up, complaining all the while.
He doesn’t like me much but he will play a really fun whistle game with me. He takes his only 2 notes that he knows and makes them into a pattern and I have to whistle it back. Sometimes it’s close to 15 notes long. He likes hubby a lot and has even stepped onto his shoulder once.
I believe that he was separated from his mate or his flock, and he called continually for them even during the night but it’s much less now. I hate that people do that to birds.
Anyway. Please don’t call the humane society, I didn’t do this. LOL
