this is my new little guy, (sorry the pictures are dark), my room is dark until about 5 pm. then it blazing light and my camera throws another fit.

his favorite place to sit in front of that wrap around mirror. it was so cruddy it took a toothbrush and bunch of Dawn to clean all the crud off of it. the white blob near his feet is forging toy with nutri berries in it.


DO NOT TRY ENTERING MY CAGE. I will snap at you.

this is the top of the cage and the toys that came with him. at the very top of the cage you will see another forging toy (rectangle shaped) Home made, this basket weave sheet of construction paper has in it 2 more types of nutri-berries.

He is, I think, 10 years old. Sweet Pea is going to have friend that is a boy for the time being. I plan on keeping both of them in separate cages for now. I have raised babies b/4 with some good results and some major disasters.

thank you everybody. he is little stinker about eating anything. he has had entire spray of millet and a nibble or 2 of his regular food. always with his beak in that wrap around mirror.
I don't want to be Mama meany but I'm about to pull that mirror out of the cage so that he eats some food any food.

that mirror is becoming pain in my backside. I moved it up and put treat dish under it. and got snapped at. this is the first little that has ever beak snapped at me. big birds I expect to be snapped at but little tiel, nope.

the cage is much bigger then I thought. the lady who had him I think was wrong about the size. boy I wish this fid would eat. he hasn't eaten enough to keep a gnat alive. I am worried that if keep moving his cage around too much it's stressing him out even more. face in mirror feet in food dish.

I finally figured it out dark dishes are huge NO NO . I dug around and found white dish put food (seeds) in it and he ate. not a lot but at the least food. he didn't want to go to bed either tonight. it was fight but he is settled some what. I tried to get hold of DR Barb but she is out of the country for the next week on parrot project in Costa Rica. DR Tony is also gone (please pray for his 4 1/2 month old daughter, they are at Rochester Mayo clinics) the only Vet that was there is DR Paul and he is a very nice guy. He has Monster the YNA but he is very new to the bird world. we chat a bit about Bebe and his not eating and that fact that his little world has been rocked so hard. I'm going to try and add some music therapy to the quarantine. he maybe use to more noise then what is in my bedroom. (with 4 kids in his prior home to go to quiet peaceful may not be as easy as I would have hoped.) he was very naughty today and drew blood on my finger for trying give him a piece of cashew.. he actually lunged like big too or macaw to get that bite in. little stinker. but I am not about to give up on him I think there may have been a lot of non caring people in his life. and that he has to learn that I care about him and how he is doing? little baby steps, each day will hopefully get better. Mom has to go grocery shopping for the fids tomorrow . and need to get a cuttlebone for Bebe. well I had better get my tush to bed, b/4 I wind up with keyboard tattoo on my face.
