Called ACCESS where I take my dog because they have Avian Specialists although they are on call. However the receptionist put me on hold so she could speak to one of the emergency vets. Vet wanted to know dosage, strength/dilution of medication (unknown) and Lucy's weight. Receptionist told me that vet said she should be OK but might have some digestive issues. However I should monitor her. I will go up and check her again in about an hour or so.

@camelotshadow The link to the cockatiel was about Baytril & Metacam. Lucy was on Metacam but is no longer on it and I'm glad it wasn't the Metacam.

I will probably keep checking on her every few hours.

Admin can you combine this with my other thread since this one is a duplicate. Thank you.

I need a camera with night vision so I can check on the birds without waking them up.

It seemed to suggest Baytril was cipro...but I guess they are just similar drugs in the same family...
Was skimming thru pages & got confused...

Sorry

Sorry I'm just now seeing this. It will be fine. It's barely even an overdose since it was 12 hours apart. Take a deep breath and try to forgive yourself.
I'm a little late but I think she will be okay with one dose especially so far apart...it is given every 12 hours in humans and peaks early. https://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs...BioterrorismandDrugPreparedness/UCM130802.pdf

I thought the fact that it was 12 hrs. all would be well but I wanted confirmation and what to watch for just in case. I was advised by two vet clinics that there could be some digestive issues. Based on the half life I figured most would be out of her but still...

Thanks. I hope so. You have a great day, too.
She's either eating her veggies or just tossing them.

Receptionist at Lucy's vet just returned my call and said it's OK but no Cipro today. Just give it tomorrow.
I will give one dose tomorrow and then we will be done with it.

Thanks all for your suggestions, support and well wishes. I probably overreacted but it's better to be safe than sorry.
She seems to be doing well.
I pushed both the Metacam and the Cipro to the back so they are nowhere near the allopurinol and DMG.
Not going to make that mistake again.
