I lost so many finches due to old age last summer... it’s time for my little flock to gain some members :) As soon as I get an indoor aviary for my (now 6) finches to live in, I’ll hopefully be adding a diamond dove or two. Could anyone give me some more info on these adorable little birds? My local parrot rescue said they occasionally get in hand tame doves, is that common? Thanks!

Our local rescue had 2 diamond doves they asked me to foster but they got adopted before I got them. I don't know a lot about them but they seem like sweet birds.

Diamond doves are very hard to tame, nice to just look at. A finch aviary is a good home for a pair. They are very social, and need a mate. For a tame dove, look into a baby ringneck or a pigeon. Both those species can get very affectionate.
