Without a doubt...'toos are very sensitive to that sort of thing.

A flock knows when somebirdy is missing, starting with Omega calling for Marley, the rest of the fids know something's up. It's heartbreaking to watch and not be able to explain the situation.

Somewhere out there though there's a little one who'll be lucky enough to come home with you.

So true...I find that introducing a new flock member helps us all heal from the loss . It's about the love .

We're casting out a digital "net"...looking...looking... The rescue in Brecksville, Ohio has a few budgies for adoption...we've adopted from there before..so that's one possibility.

The yearly fundraiser auction of the local bird club is also coming up in early September...it's the place where Marley and I met....another possibility.

Marley was one of a kind...just happy being a budgie, not wanting anything to do with any human...or any other species of bird. He did find the love of his life, Omega, late in life, and he was devoted to her and her eggies...

...oh, and about her eggies...Omega has abandoned them (they were fakes) so we've removed them and the nest...

Just an update...Omega seems to be feeling a little better...she still calls for Marley once in awhile, but now we hear some budgie "singing" also. We are still looking into bringing another budgie into the flock, and we're making some progress in our quest. I'll update you as we work along our way..

Good luck with bringing home a new budgie soon. I'm sure you'll find a budgie that really needs you and I hope things go smoothly. And that it helps Omega. Some lucky budgie will hit the jackpot with you as their caregivers. I known it's still tough for you and you'll never "replace" Marley. But I can't help feel happy for that lucky budgie out there waiting to find you.
