Hi, I have a breeding hen, who has successfully raised several chicks.
Currently I have a clutch, one 4 week old, and 2 nearer 3 weeks.
Chick number 2 died just before hatching. These chicks are number 3 and 4.
Today, I saw mama attacking the smallest chick. It has a small wound on the neck, :(
which is not actively bleeding. Right now, I have removed these 2 chicks.
If I were to remove mum, can dad rear these chicks, with support from me, or
do I need to pull these chicks completely? If I pull them, do they need artificial heating at this age?
I do have feeding supplies.
I had intended to retire mama after this clutch.

Personally I would pull the entire clutch for hand rearing.
If your male is friendly, he might like to come with you when you feed the chicks and help out.

do they need artificial heating at this age?
It depends how warm your home is.
The youngest is fully feathered?
If you home is nice and warm you may be able to not use heating pads, but you will need to monitor that with a digital thermometer and also maintain the temp in your home.
