Shade, I love this picture of Piper.
I get the giggles every time I see it because all I think is "I'm an Eagle, I'm an Eagle!"
I finally found a friend for poor Harley. He was so depressed when Gracie Tiel died. Her name is BlueBird, she is two years old and hand tame. She was very depressed and upset and missing her original daddy for the first week and flock called for him constantly. I felt so bad for her. But Harley was immediately attracted to her and it only took him two weeks to convince her he isn't such a bad guy. I had been keeping her in her own cage at first since I did not want a territorial problem with Harley if he objected to having another bird in his cage after living alone for two years. But a week ago I went into the birdroom and Blue was not in her cage; she was in Harley's cage sleeping close to him. I have left her cage in the birdroom, but she is ignoring it and spending her sleep time in Harley's cage. She allows him to sit very close to her, but he is not allowed to touch her yet; even if he accidently touches her, she gives him beak about it. They are always in the same area when I go into the birdroom when they are out, so I guess they are bonding.
I finally got some pictures of Harley and also, of course, of Blue as well. I am not sure what mutations they are, but they are definitely not regular PFLBs! I was surprised at Blue's colors; I had never seen a lovebird with a yellow forehead and white face. Blue is a fantastic little girl and I really enjoy petting her. She is a little nippy right now, but she is still adjusting to a new home. Pictures added.
