What happened?? Did stumble and fall on her face prior to me noticing these flakes, but I’m not sure if falling could even cause this. She does have a collar on due to plucking and has been biting at it a lot,, but I’m not convinced the flakes are from excessive biting at the plastic collar either,, unless it is??

If it looks like it is just the top layer flaking like that, it is probably because she can't scrape her beak against perches or the sides of the cage to help grind down the beak which is how birds normally keep the beak maintained. If it looks like it's deeper than the first layer, it could be due to damage. But most likely it's just because she can't preen herself as she normally would due to the collar.
