    I'm so sorry this happened. I hope you were able to get him to a good vet and he got the care he needed!

    One thing I'd like to add is you also need to remove whatever had the string that caused all of this in the first place ASAP. You hear about stuff like this all the time, it's really common, so just avoid putting anything with long, loose strings or strands in the cage.
