So I was giving my bird a bath, and saw that he had many huge pin feathers on his head. I wanted to know is anything is wrong, because I am a new to having birds in the house and this is the first time he has molted.
(Sorry about the weird pic, he was moving around a bunch)

My conure is molting right now too. I call him Mr PinFace. I help him with them but very carefully, they can be very sensitive.

Pin feathers on a birds head can make them pretty uncomfortable and grumpy. When the pin feathers reach a dry stage and the bird is not sensitive to having them touched you can roll one between your fingers and it should flake off and the new feather can be seen. Only do this if your bird does not react to having the pin feather touched. Also give your bird frequent opportunities to bathe or spritz from a gently spray of warm water.
