very happy to read a thread about someone wanting to get a bird and did loads of research beforehand i think your future LINNIE will fit right in and give you loads of joy !
Sadly, I can't for linnies. I checked local rescues and stuff and none of them have. Thanks for the suggestion though!Go and meet some of both! See who you click with. You never know what little cutie will catch your eye!
Yeah, an older, turquoise male linnie is very specific and considering that they are already rare...
I think that you should maybe hold off on getting a bird until you finish college or at least have your own place.

I'd probably have my parents take care of him/her. I also have a couple of younger cousins who might be able to take him/her in.There is no guarantee on how long a bird will live. My parents have a 13 year old budgie. What is your plan for the bird when you go to college?
Remember, if you want your bird to be happy after being given to a new person, they must be well socialised. Otherwise they will just pine for you.I'd probably have my parents take care of him/her. I also have a couple of younger cousins who might be able to take him/her in.

Also, something else to consider.... What if you love your bird so much you don´t want to give him/her away? I couldn´t imagine giving any of mine away, not even to family. Your parents won´t be happy if they agree to buy you the bird and then you drop out of school because you don´t want to leave the bird.
Lol thanks for the option! I literally forgot that you don't have to live on campus. Thank you so much for the idea!Hey there, I went to university in AZ, I don’t know what it’s like on the east coast but the whole city of Tempe is basically ASU, there’s typically tons of housing options outside of dorms surrounding universities. I absolutely refuse to live without my pets and lived in apartments off campus. My sister left her dog with our mom and lived in the dorms. I’m really happy to have lived off campus, the dorms were a nightmare.. I didn’t even like biking through them. I don’t feel like I missed out on anything and not having to constantly move out every semester like my sister did was a huge bonus.
Absolutely and yes I definitely do! I felt so much safer in an apartment; with dorms you have no control over who your roommates are, what they do in your dorm, or who they let into your dorm. By living off campus I got to keep my independence, my car, my kids. I wouldn’t have it any other wayLol thanks for the option! I literally forgot that you don't have to live on campus. EDIT: I'd actually want to live off campus because some weird things happen on campus if you know what I mean...
One step closer to getting a birb thanks to you!Absolutely and yes I definitely do! Thanks for the advice!I think that may have been the case with asu too. I did all my general prerequisite courses at community college and transferred so that didn’t apply to me and I saved money.
